No, and no app can. Neither TikTok nor Instagram keeps a record of who used to follow you, so there is nothing to read. Unfollows are detected by comparing a list captured earlier with one captured later, which means from your first run onward.

Weekly is plenty for most accounts. Both lists have to be fetched in full each time and both platforms throttle repeated requests, so the app suggests around 3 refreshes per 24 hours at most on TikTok, and paces Instagram separately.

The app says so rather than comparing against incomplete data and reporting people as non-followers who are not. Wait a while and refresh — the cause is almost always rate limiting.

Yes. FollowTok has a TikTok tab and an Instagram tab, switched from the strip under the header. Each platform has its own sign-in, its own lists and its own refresh pacing, and the comparison works the same way: both lists are fetched to your phone and compared there. Instagram serves its lists differently, so on very large accounts the app confirms each follow relationship individually rather than guessing from a cut-off list.

You sign in to TikTok or Instagram inside the app on your own device, through the platform's own login screen. The session and both lists stay on the phone, nothing is uploaded to our servers, and we never see or store your password.

Let both lists finish loading, then turn on airplane mode and reopen the app. If everything is still there with no connection, it is genuinely stored locally. If it empties, it was being served from somewhere else.
